How Akiba uses customer data

Data we collect

Account/contact details you provide; order and payment-related records received from commerce providers; favorites, requests and future watchlists; support communications; and technical/analytics information when those tools are enabled.

Why we use it

To operate accounts, fulfill and support orders, prevent fraud, answer sourcing requests, save preferences, improve inventory and the storefront, and personalize Akiba features. Promotional email or advertising use is treated separately from transactional/account use.

Marketing consent

Creating an account or placing an order does not by itself subscribe you to promotional email. Where Akiba asks to send new-arrival, watchlist or promotional messages, the consent should be optional and recorded separately, with an unsubscribe mechanism.

Service providers

Akiba uses service providers to operate the storefront, authentication/database/storage, hosted checkout/payment, hosting and communications. Only the data needed for those services should be shared, subject to their applicable terms and safeguards.

Retention and security

Customer information should be retained only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purpose, legal/accounting obligations, fraud prevention and dispute handling. Sensitive operational data such as seller identity, acquisition cost and margin remains on the private CardOS side and is not part of the public storefront data contract.

Questions and requests

Use the Akiba request/contact route and identify the message as a privacy inquiry. This policy should be reviewed again when analytics, ad-platform audiences, marketing automation or additional processors are enabled.
